DONATE HERE TO MAUI DISASTER RELIEF EFFORTS

ALL DONATIONS WILL BE DONATED STRAIGHT TO MAUI RELIEF EFFORTS

Our hearts ache for the people of Maui. We stand beside you as people who survived a similar wildfire tragedy, and respectfully acknowledge the additional challenges you now face.

We call on the news media to stop referring to Lahaina as a “tourist spot,” and instead a place of deep spiritual, cultural and historical significance to Native Hawaiians, adding to the devastation of its loss.

Friends, Please consider donating to Medpsire. 100% of any funds donated will be sent to local rescue and recovery efforts in Maui, with a focus on caring for Maui residents in temporary evacuation shelters. Medpsire does not have any administrative overhead to detract from donations, as we are entirely volunteer run.

We know that local people always understand best what is most needed after a disaster, and we are communicating with a group of doctors, pharmacists and nurses from Maui who are working around the clock in these shelters.

We’ve also learned of efforts by local Maui organizations whose work aligns with Medpires mission to bring free high quality health care to all people. Any funds raised in excess of what is needed in the shelters will be donated to the organizations listed below. You can of course also donate to these organizations directly.

With Love,

Medspire Health

Our Impact

To date, we’ve held EIGHTEEN free clinic days and have served over 400 patients at no cost. We’ve performed wellness screenings, reordered important medications for folks who lost their access to primary care after the fire, our case managers and social workers have linked dozens of patients with primary care and social services, we’ve cleaned wounds, listened to hearts, checked blood sugar and blood pressure and transported those who needed more care to the hospital.

But our most important accomplishment is that we’ve been present with our community during a time of struggle and change, since this disaster began. We’ve held hands, wiped tears as we listened to stories and have shared our own. Many of us grew up here and have lived and worked in this community and we believe health care is a basic human right, and that our community cannot rebuild without it.
